Underwater photography is a hobby of passion - the desire to learn how to capture an image underwater in a way nobody else has and share that image with other's who share this passion. The Underwater Photographer was created to fuel that passion with online instruction in underwater photography, digital underwater photography and digital imaging for underwater photographers, as well as new ideas and input from professional underwater photographers. Our underwater photography course offering includes Elements of Successful Underwater Photography which is Marty Snyderman's original school of underwater photography. With the surge in popularity of digital photography, we have added the course Introduction to Digital Underwater Photography which teaches shooting underwater with a digital point-and-shoot camera. Once you've captured those photos you'll want to know how to handle the computer side of digital photography. This is covered in depth with the course Digital Workflow & Image Manipulation for Underwater Photography. Unlike any other, this course details the digital workflow covering the needs and issues specific to underwater photos. Just added is our newest course, Successful Underwater Photography with Film Point & Shoot Cameras which is designed for beginning underwater photographers that are using point-and-shoot film cameras.

To make learning even more fun, the Underwater Photographer also sponsors underwater photography events and contests and offers photo tours hosted by professional underwater photographers, who are available to critique, give you tips, ideas and inspiration.
